In India, more than 2.5 lakh people and globally, 20 lakhs die of liver disease due to viral hepatitis (chronic), liver cirrhosis, and hepatocellular carcinoma annually. Liver cancer is currently the 16th most prevalent cause of death worldwide, and cirrhosis is the 11th.
